The visit by Brazil’s president Dilma Rousseff to USA’s Barak Obama was preceded by non-optimistic omens. The announced lack of “state visit” status granted to Rousseff” trip hurt Brazilian ambitions of being recognized as a mayor player in world affairs. Then, there are a series of economic disputes in a time when each country has to protect its own market while denouncing the protectionism of others. Of course, nothing of this appears in the public reports of the meeting, but a lot of “partnership” and “collaboration” blah-blah instead.
No red carpet for Dilma

Fantastic. The art is great and the sentiment is precise.

Thanks, Aaron, very kind of you. Not being a Brazilian myself, I found this behavior a bit gross indeed.

Considering that US influence is waning in Latin America, you might think that Obama would have made an effort, but no it seems. I think it was a big mistake.

I lean to trust him when he says that “United States is a Pacific country”.
